Using R-Tank Stormwater Modules for subsurface drainage on terraced lots with existing utilities.
ERTC Lots 16-18 are nested on a hillside with existing utilities complicating the stormwater drainage system - Ferguson Waterworks keeps the project on track with stackable R-Tank Stormwater Modules which offer both storage and subsurface drainage for slopes.

Overview
ERTC Lots 16-18 were positioned on a hillside. They consisted of several different terraced areas with varying elevations. In addition to this unique stormwater drainage challenge, an unforeseen utility conflicted with the placement of a storm drain line. Consequently, adding complexity to the stormwater management system solution.
Our Solution
Using the R-Tank Design Tool, we helped design 3 separate decentralized stormwater detention facilities. Because the R-Tank Modular Subsurface Storage System was decentralized, it was able to accommodate the challenge of building on a hillside. In fact, the modular system was adapted to the multiple pad elevations and adjusted to fit the existing utilities.
How can R-Tank’s Modular Stormwater Storage System accommodate subsurface drainage for slopes?
The R-Tank System not only adapts to various shapes but also many heights. Its stackable nature was crucial for this project because it offered a vertical offset between the utility and the top of the tank module. By reducing the module’s height, there was sufficient vertical offset between it and the existing utility.
